Usability Score
How intuitive and easy the product is to learn, configure, and use day-to-day.
Fit for Purpose Score
How well the product solves the specific problem it's designed for within its category.

Product Selection
We identify products through category research, user requests, and market monitoring. Every product in a category is evaluated — we don't cherry-pick.
Hands-On Testing
Our editorial team uses each product for real use cases. SaaS tools are tested on free and paid tiers. We log findings in structured evaluation sheets.
5-Pillar Scoring
Each product is rated across our 5 pillars using standardized rubrics. Scores are decimal (0.0-10.0) to allow nuanced differentiation.
Peer Review
A second evaluator reviews the scores for consistency and bias. Any score variance >1.0 triggers a discussion and recalibration.
Continuous Updates
Products are re-evaluated quarterly or when significant updates occur. We track version changes and re-score affected pillars.
Confidence Index
Each product receives a Confidence Score (0-10) indicating the rigor of our evaluation. Hands-on laboratory testing yields higher confidence than heuristic assessments.
Versioning Protocol
Our scoring algorithm evolves. Each score includes a Methodology Tag (e.g., v1.0). When the algorithm updates, historical scores are recalibrated globally.
